Morning Glory Quilt

This top has been QUILTED with Water Meander (freehand)

I wish y'all a safe Memorial Day weekend! I lot of us look forward to the long weekend, but I hope you'll stop to remember what the day means for our country. Lots of men & women, and their families, have paid the ultimate sacrifice for us to enjoy freedom.

Stitchery & Striped Tote Bag

I don't know how many of you knew I was doing a 365-Day Stitchery Challenge? This bag caused me to veer off the prescribed path of which was to be series of 4"X4" stitched pieces (fabric to be 4x4 not the actual stitching.) I wanted a quilted bag desperately to bring to Paducah, and I cranked this sucker out!

The pattern comes from Bareroots & is #75 Sewing Tote and Chatelaine (I just made the tote.)

I made the straps a bit longer so I could wear it across my body which is easier to bear when lugging pounds-worth of fabric for hours at a time :)
(... or patterns, wool, notions, rulers, etc.)

I've recovered from the aftermath of traveling, then coming back to a backlog of quilts, a mountain of laundry, my hubby's birthday, my older daughter's birthday, and Mother's Day!

Now I'm in the throes of ending our homeschool year, which means doing the typical lessons to finish things out, but also assembling a portfolio, scheduling an evaluation, then delivering said portfolio with this year's paperwork as well as next year's affidavit to the school district. All the while researching & buying books & curriculum for the upcoming school year. Whew!!

Needless to say, May is VERY busy 'round these parts! I needed a hiatus from stitching daily  but plan to resume June 1st. You can check out what I'd been working on by going to the top of the blog post & clicking on the tab heading "Stitchery Challenge".

Circles Quilt

I've been terribly remiss in posting lately! These quilts are still from before my Paducah trip. I just cannot seem to get caught up from being gone that week! Throw into the mix my hubby's b-day & a daughter celebrating her 22nd b-day, and my head is left spinning!

So here goes... I loved quilting this top. This is Cindy's first throw-size top after having completed a table topper. I was working in the shop as she put it together, and relished watching her gain confidence. WALA! And curves so early on... impressive... most impressive :)

Happy Mother's Day to all who'll be celebrating tomorrow. I cannot imagine not having been a mom, and I'm continuously thankful for the privilege.

Braid in a Day ~ Lime

Lime Braid-in-a-Day Top; QUILTED with Leafy Swirl (freehand)

Lori's vibrant color choices were a pleasure to work on!

Soooo I've been to Paducah, and after the build-up & anticipation, I still ended up feeling like a kid on Christmas morning when I got there. There was no let-down, and I wouldn't say it was overwhelming in the sense that I couldn't take it in, but more I couldn't fit everything in during our allotted time down there.

I have many pictures I look forward to sharing, but while I'm working on a bit 'o editing & weeding out what's "too much", I thought I'd show a few quilts that were actually done before I left!

Lori is cranking out these Braid in a Day Quilts like it's nobody's business! The colors are stunning

So weren't we just talking about Spring finally having sprung?? Um yeah, we here in PA will possibly see some snow flakes later today or this evening. What the hay???? It won't stick because the ground is too warm but an aberration to be sure!

My count-down to Paducah continues: 6 days until I leave! Since I'm going as a bus hostess, I've been checking out games to play with the ladies & am still looking for ideas if anyone has one to share.

Modern Quilt

This Modern Quilt Top is QUILTED with Swirls & Curls (freehand)

Has anyone else broken out the fans & shorts??

In other news, I'm just a mere 7 days away until I leave for Paducah. This is a dream trip come true, and I can't wait to tell you all about it!

I'm nervous & excited... nervous because I'll be acting as our tour bus hostess, but I'm excited to do so & to meet all the fabulous people going along. Besides which there's the fact that I'm going to PADUCAH!!
